I too thought of the 'title' attribute in this context (the purpose of 'alt' is something else). Can't help thinking that if it's true that the search engines don't mind about 'title', they *should* do so ;-) since it's a natural way to provide more verbose info about the nature of a link: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/struct/links.html#h-12.1.4

Richard, do you possibly have a source of info about this aspect of SEO?

Check here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2829.htm

Don't understand how that page deals with 'search engine friendly links'. What am I missing?

It's 302 redirect hijacking, by the way, not 301 as I stated.
Look here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/28742-1-10.htm

Thanks for clarifying.

Seems as if everything points towards exchanging Ringlink's 302 redirects for 301 redirects.
