Well, an interesting thing happened today - an email from ringsurf
acknowledging the activation of a ring was rejected due to a spf
policy violation. It appears that ringsurf sets the MAIL FROM to the
email of the ring owner, and that was not allowed by an SMTP server.
The message was fatally rejected.
Thanks for letting us know, Richard. (Setting MAIL FROM to the ring
owner's address makes much sense if you disregard SPF.)
I was surprised to find that the spf record is already being
enforced.
Was it one of your domains (i.e. a domain with a valid SPF record) or a
domain without SPF data?
It seems as if I'd better give priority to changing Ringlink so it
handles this new restriction. As regards what to do, do you have any
comments on the idea I outlined in another message?
