I've installed the new Ringlink 3.0.4.. As an experiment, I
created and subsequently deleted a dummy site on the ring to prove
that the email notification was working.
When deleting it, both the site owner and the ringmaster are
notified. When it is submitted as a new site, the site owner is
notified but the ringmaster is not.
If you had submitted it using newsite.pl, also the ringmaster would
have been notified through a (bcc) copy. Now you probably submitted it
in your capacity as ringmaster from ringadmin.pl or admin.pl, which is
the rational why no copy was sent to the ringmaster address.
So, in that case, why did the program send a copy of the removal note?
Because unlike the welcome message, that is sent when a site is
submitted, the removal note is customizable on the fly, and may
include various explanations why a site was removed. I think it's
appropriate that the sender of such a message gets a copy for the
record.
Any ideas as to what might cause this?
How about the program? ;-) Hopefully I explained the rational above.
