Okay, thanks for saying that. The principal info about it is in the rlconfig.pm file.

What would you suggest?

How about: ~~~~~~~~~~ Path to the directory 'sitecount' (directory with files containing the number of member sites within a ring), which you have created within your website, and not the cgi-bin. Specify the FULL website pathname to this new directory, a path which can often be found by visiting your web host's web site. Do NOT use the $ENV{DOCUMENT_ROOT} variable.

That is rather similar to what it says already.

The 3.04 version of the readme.html file includes a clarification,
which may make a difference. The section "Configuration file" now
begins with: "You will need to edit the rlconfig.pm file. When doing
so, you should carefully study the comments in that file together with
these instructions."

I suspect that the problem may have been that I have taken for granted
that people would regard the comments in rlconfig.pm to be part of the
instructions, while the readme.html file previously didn't say
anything about that.
