Can somebody explain to me what's wrong with using an email client when
sending email messages?
You are talking about a reminder, which makes me believe that you are
referring to a new site that does not yet comply with the requirements
for joining.
When the new member registered his/her site, I got a copy of the welcome
message. When sending a reminder, I simply forward (part of) that
message, adding a line or two at the top. Can't think of an easier way
to do it.
I also do it this way Gunner. By using Ringlink to use templates, all the
[alias keywords] can be utilized, whereas a email client template can't do
this.
A message to [ringid] or a email to All [ringid] would fill in the [alias
keywords] for [siteid].
The templates I may want to use (at other occasions) I have stored in my
email client, of course, with the ring name and ring URL etc. prefilled.
Basically, all that needs to be added is the member email address and
the site URL. Also very easy.
In any case, the difference, compared to the feature you would like to
see, is negligible. Comparing it with the time it would take (me) to
design and code such a feature leads to the obvious conclusion: It
wouldn't be worthwhile.
