When you run the checker, there is a time limit how long your server shall try to connect to the server of a site before it gives up and moves on to the next site. The default limit is 30 seconds, but it can be changed to 15 or 60 seconds at the 'Check sites' page. The checker works the same way in this respect for active and inactive sites. When you say "time-out error", exactly what do you mean? Does the checker respond 'time-out' for one or more sites, or does your server give up waiting for the checker to finish, so that you never receive a checker response? If the checker responds time-out for a site, the connection between the servers are bad, and if the problem lies on the member site's server, you'd likely have difficulties to load that site in your browser as well. It *might* make a difference to increase the time limit. If it is your server that gives up, it may make a difference to *lower* the time limit. Let us know whether this explains it. / Gunnar
