Thanks

I tried doing a backup to zip format, and got this error:

Backup data ( .zip )
Unfortunately this routine isn't available because of insufficient
software.

Can't locate Compress/Zlib.pm in @INC (@INC contains: lib
/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.00503
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005
.) at lib/Archive/Zip.pm line 128.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at lib/Archive/Zip.pm line 128.

I THINK that zlib is there (isn't that what I used when I did the backup
before?) I'm checking with the admin to be sure.

Did all that...and it still doesn't work. :-(

When I try to add a new site I get

Can't create 'wosib
/sites.db'
No such file or directory at lib/site.pm line 246.

In that case I was wrong, i.e. it's not a file ownership problem.

The fact that "Can't create 'wosib" and "/sites.db'" are
printed on two lines, indicates that the problem is that the
ring.db file includes Windows end-of-line characters, which
isn't good on Linux... (I realize now that I should have
reacted in the first place).

New try:

1) Delete the new data directory.
2) Rename the old data directory back to 'data'.
3) Create a new backup file from admin.pl *using the .zip option*

The rest is same as before.

/ Gunnar
