Long strings when translating

When translating Ringlink to other languages than English, it's
important to remember that the space, where the strings are displayed,
is limited. In many cases, especially the buttons in the left admin
panel, it's rather important that short expressions, and in some cases
abbreviations, are used. If the strings in the local language are
permitted to be too long, the resulting layout can be disappointing.

We have had some discussions about this among the Ringlink developers,
and we have discussed the possibility to modify the default layout in
order to increase the space for the text strings. Before making such a
change, we ask that each translator takes the limited space into
consideration, and *tries* to create so short strings that they don't
affect the layout adversely.

After that we should evaluate whether there is a need to modify the
default layout for this reason.
