I have one concern in this respect: How do we ensure the quality of the
translations? Probably we don't. But that problem may not prevent us
from developing Ringlink to a multilingual application.
Okay, I now see that the translation feature will be far more
sophisticated than I first imagined! :-)
If I understand correctly a Ringlink System's Manager will be able to
configure the language used for his or her Ringlink System from the
rlconfig.pm file, and the Ringmaster will be able to configure the language
used for his or her Ringlink Web Ring from the Ring Admin page?
So, Ulf could have a Swedish Ringlink System, which his buddy
Imo-Dokzyxm-Ixticon of the Xmtipoxika-nation could then join. Then once he
had joined he could have his web ring translated into his native language
Xklopitkinsa, by clicking on the translate button and selected that language
from the list?!
The quality of the translation would I think be determined by the users!?
I can just see the Support team getting an outraged complaint in
Xklopitkinsa saying that the get code instructions are an insult to their
religion and have to be corrected yesterday........ :o)
I also don't think there will be a shortage of volunteers to do the
translations, seeing that we've already had offers to do so in Swedish,
Russian, German, and.......
