Hi Dave,
Your latest posting about translation did point me in the right
direction. I have downloaded WebCalendar, GNU Gettext (which
unfortunately seems to be a C application), and a Perl module called
Locale::PO.pm for managing GNU Gettext .po files.
The general idea seems to be plain text files simply consisting of a
number of string sets, each set including a string in the original
language (normally English) followed by the equivalent string in the
other language.
I notice that many of the details in the programs and documents I have
seen so far are above my programming level. I'm not sure to which extent
it's important to apply those ideas for making Ringlink multilingual,
but it has to be evaluated together with people with more programming
experience than me.
Guess that's all I can say right now. I need to get a few other Ringlink
fixes done before I have time to really engage in the different options
as regards the translation feature.
Thanks for your postings, Dave.
