People might be reluctant to open an attachment (with all the viruses
spreading around).
Plus which "bardenav"/navpanel are you going to send automatically?
Do you want all your "costumers" to get the same banner?
Do you want them to receive a full set and to choose one out of them?
Do you want her/him to choose from your site and get it automatically?
I personally prefer to exchange some mails with other people involved on
"my" ring. They automatically receive the simplest HTML fragment, then they
can choose to download among several banners from the site and copy the
corresponding code from the site too...
Too many automation might kill the ring spirit (a community)!

Some RingMasters have asked me if the Ringlink program can be
configured to auto send the gif/jpg for their Ring's navpanel with
the Add mail form when a new member joins??

I just added this idea to
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=2313&group_id=15568
in order to remember it for the future.

But, honestly, I'm not too enthusiastic. Ringlink is installed on
different kind of shared servers, and one of the problems, that some
people encounter when trying to make the program work, is about the mail
function. Some webhosting providers have configured sendmail and the
SMTP server with restrictions that make it impossible to send the
current plain text messages as intended. Reasons for such restrictions
are to prevent abuse of the server and/or spam. I have a feeling that an
ability to add attachments to the messages would mean that even more
Ringlink users would meet difficulties in this respect.

Also, please note that the 'Add page' as well as the 'Add mail message'
can be customized. Accordingly, a ringmaster can include links at the
'Add page' and URLs at the 'Add mail message' to those images s/he wants
the members to download. In my opinion this is about as convenient as
emailing them.
