I posted a letter several weeks ago saying that I had a hard time getting the
search script to install and no one answered me so I gave up.

Just wanted to throw this out here and see what happens. Greta and I were
talking about the search script found on the FAQ site. It seems to have
some problems and I was wondering if anyone found a fix for it or perhaps
an alternative.

What is happening is when you invoke the script from the browser it gives
you a list of your sites, including inactive sites, and then gives you the
search form. All sites on the lists had bad URL's. Then when conducting
a search all sites in the results had bad URL's.

I noticed when I type ./search.cgi (my server only does cgi) from the BASH
prompt using the pipe |more command it see that the URL's it spits out are
as follows
<A HREF=HTTP://URL.COM>URL.COM</A>
If you notice there is no quotation marks on the href anchor. I'm not a
perl programer (though I would love to learn) so I have no Idea if this is
even the problem but it seemed like it was interesting.

That's about it.
