Hi everyone,
I just recently installed the Ringlink script on my
domain to review it for hosting my own webrings. I love it! However,
my one concern is the amount of added pull
on system resources an active ring of about 180 sites can do. Has
anyone been able to detect any server drain? The reason I ask, my host
reserves the right to pull any script that uses too much server resources
or that perpetually calls on the server.
I have read the messages posted at the
egroups/ringmgr list. It was informative but only two sites did any testing. I
am wondering about the active webrings all ready in action with the Ringlink
script. How many rings do you manage on your server and what type of pull does
the load create? Has anyone had their host complain about the
script?
