CrickRock is gone  Topic: Systems • Category: News
Posted by: Joseph_Dunphy on Tuesday, December 09, 2008 - 02:42 PM
Systems I couldn't find any other comments about this, so I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but CrickRock has been offline for at least a week. Probably much more, given the current absence of any sites at CrickRock.com in Yahoo site Explorer. In fact, the most recent Google cache of anything on the CrickRock site that I can find is from three months ago!

Note: The ability to post comments has been disabled due to a lot of spam. Use the mailing list if you want feedback on your article.

Cafe Satan's Ring of Eternal Damnation  Topic: Webrings • Category: News
Posted by: Joseph_Dunphy on Sunday, September 16, 2007 - 07:44 PM
Webrings Technically not a new ring, the Ring of Eternal Damnation was relocated from Webring in response to the Webring membership plan drama, some of the origins of which I've discussed in an article on my site entitled "the SSNB fiasco" - let's hope that Ringlink doesn't follow suit and adopt a similar system.

Warning Re: Ring-Master.com  Topic: Systems • Category: Reviews
Posted by: Joseph_Dunphy on Saturday, September 01, 2007 - 05:03 PM
Systems Rings for that service appear in the ringlink directory, in at least one case being listed as being open to new submissions. (Ring of Craziness) On going to the homepage for that ring, I found that it clearly invited new submissions, but on taking the time to fill out the application, I found my time wasted. The ringmaster had closed the ring without taking the time to mention this on the ring homepage, or change the settings for his directory membership to list the ring as being closed to new members.

Am I the ONLY one who cares if my HTML is valid or not?  Topic: Webrings • Category: Tips & Ideas
Posted by: TheBicyclingGuitaris on Sunday, May 20, 2007 - 04:39 AM
Webrings Valid HTML code is important for accessibility and cross-browser compatibility. Why don't the Ringmasters supply valid HTML code for the Webring banners? Is it them, or is it the Ringlink software that is screwing up?

Ringlink System Template  Topic: Systems • Category: News
Posted by: ringjanitor on Monday, June 20, 2005 - 07:09 AM
Systems Replaces the system index page that comes with the program, with a entire webring system website including demo ring, color chart, and contact form. This being a system website that provides your ringmasters with all the tools they need to setup and manage a Ringlink powered webring.

Is CrickRock being Closed?  Topic: Systems • Category: News
Posted by: Gunnar on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 08:29 PM
Systems I have reasons to fear that the webring service CrickRock, which is powered by Ringlink, will be closed down shortly. To limit the damage for the case that would happen, I recommend all CrickRock ringmasters to backup their rings as soon as possible.

Please continue reading to find out how.

Move to faster server  Topic: Web Site • Category: News
Posted by: Gunnar on Sunday, September 26, 2004 - 08:05 AM
Web Site This site has been moved from the web space at SourceForge.net to a virtual server provided by gunnar.cc Hosting.

The SourceForge.net servers have occationally been heavily loaded, and hence difficult to access. Through the move, you can now access the various Ringlink resources more easily.
